Crime Reports at Jacksonville State University: February 2025

Jacksonville, AL – In accordance with the U.S. Department of Education and the Jeanne Clery Act, Jacksonville State University (JSU) has released its latest crime and activity log, detailing incidents reported on campus. This report highlights the current status of each case, including whether they are active, closed, or pending investigation.

The log reveals a range of incidents that occurred recently, providing transparency and fostering a safer campus environment. Cases categorized as “closed” or “inactive” indicate that they are not currently under investigation, while those referred for disciplinary action have been forwarded to the Office of Community Standards and Student Ethics.

Jacksonville State University reported a series of incidents throughout February 2025. Among the most notable cases, a Possession of Marijuana Second Degree was reported at Pi Kappa Phi House on February 20, which has since been closed. On the same day, another case of Theft by Deception was reported at the Pi Kappa Phi House and remains pending.

On February 19, a Possession of Marijuana Second Degree case was reported at Sparkman Hall, which was later closed. That same month, several harassment and criminal mischief incidents occurred, including cases at Penn House Apartments, Martin Hall, Fitzpatrick Hall, Pete Mathews Coliseum, and Pannell Hall. These harassment cases are still pending.

Theft was another recurring issue, with reports of Theft of Property Fourth Degree at The Edge on February 25, and a Theft From Residence of $500 or less at North Village Hall on February 22. These cases are still pending investigation.

Application

A case of criminal mischief related to damage to private property was reported at Ayers Hall on February 17, which was later closed. Other notable incidents include a case of fraudulent use of a credit/debit card, which involved the City of Jacksonville and Anniston and is still pending.

Additional offenses include a Minor in Possession of Tobacco reported at North Village Hall on February 4 (closed) and a Criminal Trespass Third Degree at the President’s House on February 1, which resulted in an arrest. The same day, there was also a harassment case reported at Fitzpatrick Hall, which was later closed.

Throughout the month, several other marijuana possession charges were made, including at Meehan Hall on February 18 (closed) and Rowe Hall on February 6 (closed). Most of these cases remain under investigation or have been resolved.
