Jacksonville, AL –In the spirit of holiday generosity, Cuts N Curls Salon in Jacksonville is once again spearheading its annual “Adopt a Grandparent” initiative to bring joy to seniors residing in a local nursing home. The salon is actively seeking donations from the community to make this holiday season special for those who may not have family or visitors.
For the past five years, Cuts N Curls Salon has collaborated with a Jacksonville nursing home, receiving a list of names and numbers for individuals who could use a little extra love during the festive season. These are residents who might not otherwise receive gifts or companionship at Christmas.
“The response from the community has been excellent over the years, and the patients are always so thankful and excited,” says Cyndi Jamerson, the driving force behind this heartfelt initiative.
To participate, community members can choose to adopt a specific person from the provided list. Each number corresponds to a name on the nursing home’s roster. Alternatively, those who prefer to contribute without adopting a specific individual can drop off items directly at the beauty shop. Cuts N Curls Salon will assemble personalized gift bags for each resident, including items from their wish list, along with a snack box featuring cookies, crackers, drinks, and more.
Individuals interested in adopting a resident can contact the salon via private message to ensure their chosen person is still available. The deadline for donation drop-offs is December 1st. Additionally, a Cash App option is available for those who wish to contribute financially, allowing the salon to purchase any remaining items needed before the delivery date.
Cuts N Curls Salon is conveniently located in the same parking lot as Jefferson’s, at the end of the antique mall in Jacksonville.
“We’re grateful for the community’s support, and we believe this year will be truly special for the residents,” expresses Cyndi Jamerson. As the holiday season approaches, let’s join hands to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those who could use an extra dose of warmth and care.
