Anniston, AL – The Anniston Public Library is set to host a captivating event that delves into the rich history and intricate technique of pysanka, the traditional Ukrainian art of decorating eggs. Scheduled for April 24th at 10:00 am, this unique class offers participants the opportunity to learn about the origins and cultural significance of pysanky while mastering the intricate art of egg decoration.

Led by experienced instructor Kelly Barkwell, participants will embark on a journey through the centuries-old tradition of pysanka, exploring its roots and evolution over time. From its ancient origins to its modern-day practice, attendees will gain insight into the symbolism, motifs, and techniques that define this revered art form.

The class will not only delve into the history of pysanky but also provide hands-on instruction in the intricate techniques required to create stunning decorative eggs. Participants will have the opportunity to learn various methods of egg decoration, including wax-resist dyeing and intricate patterning, as they create their own pysanky masterpieces.
