Driver Arrested for January 27 Vehicle Crash in Anniston

Reece Cain charged with Negligent Homicide after vehicle crash

Reece Thomas Cain, 21, was arrested by the Anniston Police Department and charged with Negligent Homicide. Cain was driving on Highway 431 (Eastern Bypass) when he crashed into Katsiaryna Budrevich, 44, of Anniston. Emergency workers attempted to extricate Ms. Budrevich but she was pronounced dead on scene.

The Anniston Police Department conducted a thorough investigation and was able to determine that speed was a factor in the crash. Investigators also collected statements from witnesses to the crash and documented evidence from the scene. With the wishes of the family for charges to be filed the Anniston Police Department secured an arrest warrant for Cain. Earlier today Cain was booked into the Calhoun County Jail charged with Homicide Negligent and has a bond listed at $1,000.
