Election 2022 candidate forums

Candidate Forums

The Calhoun County Journal will be hosting a series of open forums for candidates running for public office. The first forum will be for Alabama State Senate, District 12, the second will be Alabama House 40. These will occur prior to the Primary Elections to allow voters to choose the candidate they support and believe will be best for the position.

These forums will be held live so if you wish to attend be sure to be early enough to get a seat. Seating will come on a first come first serve basis. The forum will also be live streamed on our Facebook page. A copy of the taping will be available on our site upon completion of the events.

The questions that will be asked to the candidates will come directly from the community. All questions submitted must come from a resident of the voting district being considered.  For example if you live in AL Senate, District 12, you may submit a question.

If you wish to submit a question, please fill out the form below and submit your information. Questions will be taken until seven days prior to the event. All of the questions will be given to the moderator (who is not affiliated with the Calhoun County Journal) who will select random questions for the event.

Neither the candidates nor the Calhoun County Journal will have any prior knowledge of which questions will be asked. You will not need to attend the forum live to have your question asked so please be sure to get involved.
