Montgomery , AL – In a historic ceremony today, Governor Kay Ivey swore in Ellen McNair as the new secretary of the Alabama Department of Commerce. In the presence of McNair’s family, the governor administered the oath of office, making McNair the first woman to assume the esteemed role in the department’s history.
Governor Ivey expressed her confidence in Secretary McNair and highlighted the significance of this appointment for the state’s economic future:
