Jackson Hodges, city of Anniston, PIO shred that the Anniston Regional Airport has passed the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) inspections thanks to the city’s corrective actions. The FAA has now discharged the City of Anniston from the $1.5 million in fines and penalties that were accessed after the FAA’s March 2020 investigations. HE stated that “Municipal leadership thanks our tremendous city staff for working to correct the previously identified issues.”
In addition, the Anniston Regional Airport is now state certified as an unlimited general aviation (GA) airport. This is the first time in the airport’s history that such certification has been obtained. City leadership is excited over these recent developments, as they bode well for the future growth of the airport.
The Anniston Regional Airport currently averages 63 operations per day and provides hangars, tie downs, flight instruction, Exxon 100LL and Jet-A, all in a clean and comfortable setting. With an asphalt runway 7,002 feet by 150 feet, and over 500,000 square feet of paved apron and seal-coated tile ramp, this facility accommodates dual wheel aircraft up to 500,000 pounds.
