Jacksonville, AL — The Jacksonville Arts Council successfully brought back one of the city’s most beloved events, the 2025 Fair on the Square, on Saturday, May 17th. Despite an early morning rain and overcast skies, the event unfolded into a lively celebration of creativity and community, filling the historic downtown square from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with vibrant energy.
Fair on the Square showcased a wide variety of handmade crafts, original artwork, food vendors, and live demonstrations, providing a colorful and engaging experience for visitors of all ages. Local artists and creators took center stage, sharing unique home décor pieces, paintings, and interactive exhibits, drawing crowds eager to explore and support Jacksonville’s thriving creative scene.
Festival-goers enjoyed delicious offerings from Wooten’s Easy Eatery, famous for their mouth-watering BBQ and tacos, as well as refreshing sweet lemonade from Main Squeeze Lemonade. The food trucks and vendors added a flavorful dimension to the event, complementing the artistic displays throughout the day.
A highlight of the event was the children’s art contest, hosted by the Jacksonville Arts Council. The competition received 61 entries, showcasing the talent and imagination of local youth. Winners were announced by age group:
