False Report of Home Invasion Results in Domestic Violence Arrest in Piedmont

Piedmont, AL – On Sunday, December 11, 2022, at approximately 5:45 am the Piedmont Police Department received a call of a possible home invasion at a residence in the city. Responding officers arrived and came in contact with Trevor Floyd Breed, 32, of Piedmont, who stated he had been stabbed. The initial information that was given to the officers was, that a person had attempted to break into the occupied residence and stabbed Breed during an altercation.

As officers continued to gather information, they had learned that the situation was completely different than the original story. The female that lives at the residence advised them that Breed had forced his way into the house and began to fight with her. According to her information, Breed physically struck the female victim and grabbed her by her throat and began to choke her. It was during that altercation that Breed sustained his stab injuries causing him to release her and then contacted 911 himself and issued the initial report of a home invader.

Piedmont Police Chief, Nathan Johnson, advised that the injuries to Breed were not life threatening and he refused to be transported to the hospital. Breed was taken into custody and transported to the Calhoun County Jail where was charged with Domestic Violence – Strangulation | Bond – $30.000 and Falsely Reporting an Incident | Bond – $6,000.

The female victim of the domestic was transported to the hospital to be treated. Her injuries were also not life threatening.
