ANNISTON, AL – More than 115 Farmers Home Furniture store managers, along with members of the company’s home office team, are gathering in Calhoun County on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, for the retailer’s annual kickoff meeting at the Longleaf Event Center at Anniston Museums & Gardens.
The meeting brings together representatives from the company’s more than 250 stores across seven southeastern states, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
The annual gathering focuses on preparing store teams for the November and December holiday shopping season. Presentations will highlight new merchandise, upcoming credit offers, and company initiatives intended to support sales and customer engagement during one of the busiest retail periods of the year.
“It’s just great to be able to get everybody together, and there’s an excitement that fills the room,” said Sharon Gouge, Director of Community Affairs for Farmers Home Furniture. “We’re all about making our customers into our family and friends, and that’s what Farmers has always been about since Mr. Sherwin Glass started the company in 1949. We’re looking to continue to grow the company in the future, so we’re really excited about what the future holds.”
Founded in 1949 by Sherwin Glass, Farmers Home Furniture has expanded into a regional furniture retailer serving communities throughout the Southeast. The company emphasizes customer relationships and service as part of its business operations.
The selection of Anniston as the meeting location also brings representatives from across the region to Calhoun County, providing an opportunity for visiting employees to experience local facilities and attractions.
The Longleaf Event Center, located at Anniston Museums & Gardens, serves as a venue for business meetings, conferences, and other gatherings. Its location provides access to the surrounding gardens and museum attractions.
“We’re excited to welcome Farmers Home Furniture to Calhoun County,” said Cher Dulaney, Tourism Director for Visit Calhoun County. “When organizations bring their teams here from across the Southeast, it gives them an opportunity to experience our community firsthand. We’re proud to share places like Anniston Museums & Gardens and the hospitality that makes Calhoun County a special place to visit.”
