Fatal Hit-and-Run Incident Claims Life of Talladega Resident

Talladega Hit in Run Ends in Death

Talladega, AL — On June 21st, 2024, tragedy struck at the intersection of Stephen J. White Blvd and North St. East when Talladega Police responded to reports of an injured person. Upon arrival around 4:58 am, officers discovered Pierre Tremayne Whitson, aged 37 and a resident of Talladega, lying on Stephen J. White Blvd. alongside a bicycle.

According to initial investigations, Whitson had been struck by a vehicle, after which the vehicle fled the scene, leaving Whitson critically injured. Sadly, Whitson was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has been sent to the Department of Forensic Sciences in Montgomery, AL., for further examination.

The Talladega Police Department urges anyone with information regarding this hit-and-run incident to come forward and assist investigators. They can be reached at 256-362-4508.
