Traffic Fatality Involving Oxford Driver

St. Clair County, AL – In the early hours of Sunday, November 5, a tragic two-vehicle crash unfolded on Interstate 20, resulting in the loss of a Pell City man’s life. William C. Kimbert, a 28-year-old resident of Pell City, was fatally injured in the incident, which occurred at approximately 2:07 a.m.

The accident involved two vehicles, a 2012 Dodge Avenger driven by Kimbert and a 2020 Kia Forte operated by Michelle E. Quick, a 29-year-old from Oxford. According to the authorities, the Dodge Avenger driven by Kimbert was struck by Quick’s Kia Forte.

A somber detail emerged from the investigation: at the time of the crash, Kimbert was not using a seat belt, which may have played a significant role in the severity of his injuries. Tragically, he was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident.

Michelle E. Quick, on the other hand, sustained injuries in the collision. She was promptly transported to the University of Alabama Birmingham Hospital (UAB) for medical treatment.

The crash location was identified as Interstate 20, near the 150-mile marker, which is approximately six miles east of Moody, within St. Clair County.

As the investigation unfolds, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division Troopers are diligently working to piece together the details surrounding this tragic incident. At this time, no further information is available.
