Fatality in Single-Vehicle Motorcycle Crash South of Oxford

Traffic Fatality -- Cleburne County

Cleburne County, AL — A tragic single-vehicle crash occurred on Saturday, June 1, resulting in the death of Trenton A. Self, a 23-year-old man from Temple, Georgia. The accident took place at approximately 3:20 p.m. on Alabama 281, near the eight-mile marker, roughly 10 miles south of Oxford.

Self was riding a 2024 Kawasaki EX500 motorcycle when he lost control, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway and strike a guardrail. Emergency responders quickly transported him to the Regional Medical Center in Anniston, where he was later pronounced dead due to the severity of his injuries.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division is conducting a thorough investigation into the incident. As of now, no additional details have been released.
