Anniston, AL – September 21st is the first opportunity for FDIC Money Smart for Young Adults hosted by the Anniston Public Library. Students from 11th – 12th Grade: Join the library on the third Wednesday of every month for the FDIC Money Smart for Young Adults program. This program consists of eight modules, and teaches teenagers the importance of setting financial goals, saving, borrowing responsibly, etc.
The eight modules are as follows:
• Bank on It – An introduction to bank services (September 21)
• Check it Out – How to choose and keep a checking account (October 19)
• Setting Financial Goals – How to keep track of your money (November 16)
• Pay Yourself First – Why you should save, save, save (December 21)
• Borrowing Basics – An introduction to credit (January 18)
• Charge it Right – How to make a credit card work for you (February 15)
• Paying for College & Cars – Know what you are borrowing before you buy (March 15)
• A Roof Over Your Head – What home ownership and renting are all about
(April 19)
• Check it Out – How to choose and keep a checking account (October 19)
• Setting Financial Goals – How to keep track of your money (November 16)
• Pay Yourself First – Why you should save, save, save (December 21)
