MONTGOMERY, AL – Fight for Alabama Families (FFAF) hosted its 2025 Advocacy Day on Thursday, March 6, at the Alabama Statehouse, marking the first anniversary of the IVF Immunity Act. The event featured a press conference and rally on the front steps, where advocates, patients, doctors, and elected officials addressed attendees.
Speakers included FFAF Founder Corinn O’Brien, Speaker of the House Nathaniel Ledbetter, Representative Terri Collins, Dr. Mamie McLean of Alabama Fertility Specialists, and IVF advocate and patient Jamie Heard. The discussions focused on the impact of the IVF Immunity Act and ongoing efforts to ensure continued access to in vitro fertilization in Alabama.
Advocacy Day also provided attendees the opportunity to meet with their legislators to discuss IVF access and its importance in the state. The event was part of FFAF’s ongoing mission following the Alabama Supreme Court ruling that affected IVF services.
Since its founding, Fight for Alabama Families Coalition has worked to mobilize advocates and raise awareness about IVF-related issues. The organization previously coordinated efforts that led to the passage of the IVF Immunity Act,bringing together patients, medical professionals, and policymakers.
The event reflected the continued engagement of stakeholders seeking to address IVF access and protections in Alabama.
