    • This is for 8 dump trucks, 2 trails tractors and will be a cost of 1.5 million. This is an annual purchase. –Unanimously Accepted
    • This is for 17 pieces for equipment totaling 3.6 million and is in a three year rotation. –  Unanimously Accepted
  • Assistant Administrator’s Employment Contract Modification – Unanimously Accepted
  • County Engineer’s Employment Contract Modification – Unanimously Accepted
  • 911 District Board Appointment (District 2) – Tim Hodges nominated Mark Tyner. – Unanimously Accepted
  • Juneteenth Holiday Resolution – (see full resolution below) Juneteenth will be observed on July 2, 2021 and added to the calendar of state and federal holidays for future calendar years. – Unanimously Accepted
  • Jail Renovation Project – 35% Final Design Resolution. This would allow the next stage to begin for the 65% final design phase. – Unanimously Accepted
  • Expressvote Machine Agreement – This is for the purchase of 50 machines that will aide in the voting process for those with disabilities.  – Unanimously Accepted
  • Investing in Alabama Counties Agreement – The ACCA will provide services and legal guidance on the American Recovery Act monies. A fee would be accessed as a percentage of total funds received. – Unanimously Accepted
  • Chairman Change Resolution – JD Hess is the current Chairman and his designated time in this position is ending. The next in line for this position is  Carolyn Henderson. All the commissioners took a moment to congratulate Commission Henderson on being, not only the first female Commissioner in Calhoun County, but also the first female chairperson. She will hold this position from July 2, 2021 to January 26, 2022. – Unanimously Accepted
  • Public Comments
    • Trisha Adams with the Agency for Substance Abuse and Prevention center wanted to let the commission and the public know about a community event being held on July 24th.  An ice cream social and will be held in conjunction with the Picnic with the Police event involving the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office and and the Anniston Police Department.
    • Audrey Maxwell with the Calhoun County Chamber of  Commerce wanted to thank Commissioner Wilson and the city  of Anniston for being present and supporting the ribbon cutting for the resurfacing of W 15th Street. She also wanted to share that the Chamber has taken out billboards, TV ads, and radio ads to promote tourism. She also talked about the upcoming Dixie Softball Tournament this weekend. There are over 50 teams arriving. Also over the next few weeks there with be the Nobel Street Festival, the Piedmont Criterium, OxfordFest, JAXFest, and the Piedmont 4th of July celebrations. 
    • Lee Patterson recognized his niece, Natalie Patterson, for going to Girls State and winning a court of appeals event. 
    • Commissioners Hodges and Henderson also wanted to thank JD Hess for all the hard work he has done as chairman. They specifically mentioned his work with Woodland Park and the horse trails.
