Lisa Fiore, Policy and Member Services Assistant for Governor Ivey, put out a press release stating that “Gov. Ivey has directed flags to be lowered to half-staff to honor Baldwin County Sheriff’s Deputy Bill Smith, who passed away on Sunday.
Flags should be flown at half-staff on this day of his interment on Saturday, June 12, 2021.”
Deputy Smith was also the fire Chief in Weaver, AL for 18 years. During the last Weaver City Council meeting discussion were held over the large contribution he had on developing the Weaver Fire Department and his focus on training and maintaining equipment.
