Governor Kay Ivey has ordered that flags be flown at half staff until sunset on Saturday, April 30, 2022 to honor State Rep. Steve McMillan, who passed away yesterday. Her specific directive was as follows:
“I am directing flags to be lowered to half-staff on Friday, April 29, 2022 to honor state Rep. Steve McMillan, who sadly passed away yesterday after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
Rep. McMillan was a dear friend and our state’s longest serving member of the Alabama House of Representatives, representing the people of Baldwin County for 42 years. He was a champion for the people of South Alabama and will be missed by all. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Gayle, and his family during this time.
The flags should be flown at half-staff until sunset on Saturday, April 30, 2022.”
