Flash Flood Warning for Calhoun County, Alabama

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for this weekend. Beginning Saturday morning through Sunday evening “heavy rainfall associated with the developing tropical system in the Gulf of Mexico will begin Saturday morning across the southwestern portions of Central Alabama. The heavy rainfall will spread northward Saturday afternoon into Saturday night and may continue into Sunday. Rainfall totals of 3 to 5 inches will be possible in the watch area”. 

Area’s under the watch in East Central Alabama are: Calhoun, Chambers, Clay, Cleburne, Lee, Macon, Randolph, Russell and Tallapoosa. 

Please be attentive to the weather and do not attempt to cross over any roads that are under water.
