Jacksonville, AL – The Foothills Piano Festival will present a chamber music concert featuring pianist Wendy Freeland and a group of guest musicians on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at JSU Mason Hall. The performance is scheduled from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Freeland will be joined by Jeff Solomon (horn), Mark Brandon (clarinet), Jeremy Benson (flute), Nib McKinney (bassoon), and Kelly Newport (oboe) for an afternoon program highlighting works by French composer Francis Poulenc. Poulenc’s compositions are known for blending classical structure with expressive lyricism and distinctive harmonic color, making his chamber works a staple of 20th-century repertoire.
The concert is part of the Foothills Piano Festival’s ongoing mission to bring professional-level classical performances and educational opportunities to the region. By featuring collaborative chamber music, the festival continues its focus on showcasing both individual artistry and ensemble performance.
The event will take place at Mason Hall on the campus of Jacksonville State University and is open to the public.
