Weaver, AL – The Weaver Police Department has announced the arrest of Dylan Hawk Strott, a former paraprofessional teacher at Weaver High School, following an investigation into alleged crimes against a juvenile.
The investigation began at the end of January 2025 after Weaver police received a report regarding a potential crime involving a minor. Authorities launched an inquiry that led to the arrest of Strott, a 31-year-old resident of Jacksonville, AL. She has been charged with Transmitting Obscene Material to a Child and Child Solicitation by Computer, both classified as Class B felonies under Alabama law.

Strott is currently out on bond.
According to law enforcement officials, the investigation involves at least one juvenile student from Weaver High School. However, authorities have confirmed that no criminal activity is alleged to have taken place on the school campus.
Around 4:00 p.m. this afternoon, Friday, February 21, 2025, Strott voluntarily turned herself in to the Weaver Police Department. She will be transferred to the Calhoun County Jail, and bond will be determined at that time if applicable.
“Weaver police take the safety and security of our community’s children very seriously, and we will not compromise when that is threatened,” said Lt. Andy Hunter of the Weaver Police Department. “This investigation was aggressively pursued from the moment the first report came in and has involved several community partners.”
Lt. Hunter extended gratitude to the administration of Weaver High School and the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office school resource officer for their cooperation. He also acknowledged the assistance of the Calhoun/Cleburne County Children’s Advocacy Center for their support and compassion for the victims. Additionally, he recognized the East Metro Area Crime Center (EMACC) of the Oxford Police Department for their technical assistance in the case.
Authorities have stated that the investigation remains ongoing. Additional details may be released as the case progresses.
