Gadsden Man Killed in Early Morning Crash on I-59 in St. Clair County

Gadsden, AL – A Gadsden man was killed early Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle accident in St. Clair County. William E. Martin II, 47, suffered fatal injuries when the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser he was driving left the roadway, struck an unoccupied 1997 Toyota Camry, and then overturned. Martin, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident took place on Interstate 59 near mile marker 171, approximately three miles south of Steele. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash. No further details have been provided at this time.
