Gadsden, AL – The Gadsden State Community College Alumni Association is now accepting nominations for its annual Alumni of the Year Awards, recognizing individuals who have made significant contributions to the college and its service area.
“We are asking people in our community who have left a lasting impression on our service area,” said Julie White, president of the Gadsden State Alumni Association. “We have celebrated 100 years of excellence in 2025 and remember those that have continued to remain an integral part of our success.”
White encouraged community members to reflect on individuals whose leadership and creativity have had a meaningful impact. “Take the time this holiday season to think of a Gadsden State alumni member, student, faculty, staff, community member, or stakeholder who consistently demonstrates exceptional leadership and creativity. Take a moment to nominate someone today, so that we can recognize them in 2026,” she said.
Nominations are open in the following categories:
-
Distinguished Alumni of the Year
-
Emerging Alumni of the Year (age 35 or younger)
-
Outstanding GSCC Faculty and Staff Alumni of the Year
-
Outstanding GSCC Athletic Alumni
According to the Alumni Association, nominees should be individuals whose achievements bring honor to Gadsden State Community College and who have demonstrated excellence in leadership, volunteerism, and community service.
