GADSDEN, AL — Gadsden State Community College has announced that 87 student-athletes and seven athletic teams have been recognized on the Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll for the Spring 2026 semester.

The honor recognizes student-athletes who maintained a grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the spring term, highlighting their ability to balance academic responsibilities with the demands of collegiate athletics.

Gadsden State Athletic Director Blake Lewis praised the accomplishments of the student-athletes.

“The achievements of our student-athletes demonstrate what is possible when dedication, perseverance, and accountability come together,” Lewis said. “Their success both in the classroom and in competition sets a standard for excellence.”

ACCC Commissioner Dean Myrick also commended the students, faculty and staff for their efforts.

“These student-athletes and teams should be extremely proud of themselves, as they have balanced academics with practice and games,” Myrick said. “I am very proud of them, along with the faculty and staff at our amazing colleges, for the work they do in preparing our student-athletes for life outside of athletics.”
