Gadsden, AL – Gadsden State Cherokee students and employees are teaming up with the Rotary Club of Cherokee County to organize a food drive, aiming to support local families receiving assistance from the Family Care Center. Community members are encouraged to join the initiative by donating stuffing mix, cranberry sauce, and canned vegetables, with collection bins available through November 30 in the Gadsden State Cherokee lobby.
Marie Roberts, Gadsden State Cherokee’s library assistant and the food drive’s organizer, emphasized the importance of this partnership. “We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with the Rotary Club on this meaningful project,” Roberts said. “This collaboration allows us to extend our reach in the community and provide support to families who may be struggling this holiday season.”
The Family Care Center serves a crucial role in supporting area families by providing essential food and resources. The combined efforts of Gadsden State Cherokee and the Rotary Club aim to amplify this support and ensure more families can experience the warmth of holiday celebrations.
“We’re committed to making a difference in our community, and this food drive is a way to show our support for those facing hardships,” Roberts said. “With the help of our students, faculty, staff, and the entire community, we’re hoping to brighten the holiday season for many families in our area.”
This food drive offers a practical way for the local community to contribute to holiday meals for those in need, as Gadsden State Cherokee and the Rotary Club join hands to uplift and support families this Thanksgiving and Christmas.
