Gadsden, AL – The Gadsden State Community College A Cappella Choir and Singers are preparing to spread holiday cheer with a series of performances across local churches and community venues for their annual Christmas Tour. The tour begins with an opening performance at 6 p.m. on November 24 at Providence Baptist Church in Ragland. Each event on the tour is free and open to the public, showcasing the choir’s commitment to community celebration.

One of the cherished highlights of the tour is the choir’s 22nd appearance at the Annual Tree Lighting at Regency Pointe in Rainbow City, where they will perform at 6 p.m. on December 3. The tour will culminate with the highly anticipated Community Christmas Concert at 6 p.m. on December 12 at First United Methodist Church of Gadsden.

“The Gadsden State A Cappella Choir and Singers work incredibly hard to bring a sense of warmth and joy to each performance during the holiday season,” said J.T. Harrell, director of the choir. “The Christmas concert tour is a cherished tradition that lets us connect with those in our community through timeless carols and festive songs.”

Audiences can look forward to an array of holiday classics, including “White Christmas,” “Silver Bells,” “Carol of the Bells,” “Winter Wonderland,” “The Grinch,” and songs like “Christmas on Broadway” and the Macy’s Christmas Parade song, “We Believe.”

Additional public performances include:

  • December 1 at 5 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church in Leesburg
  • December 8 at 6 p.m. at Rainbow City Methodist Church
  • December 22 at 6 p.m. at Cherry Street Baptist Church

The choir will also perform private concerts for various community organizations, including the Gadsden Greeters, Glencoe Senior Center, The Rotary Club, Rainbow Presbyterian Church, and a Christmas brunch for Gadsden State employees.

“We’re excited to share the spirit of the season and create memorable experiences for all who attend,” Harrell added.

This talented group of 22 students represents a range of academic majors and hometowns, with singers like Jackson Alread, Ashley Pentecost, and Trevor Wheat from Rainbow City; Emma Beasley of Boaz; and Junior Kamassa from Togo, among others. Together, they bring diverse backgrounds and a shared passion for music to every performance, enriching each event with a sense of unity and holiday spirit.
