Gadsden, AL – Gadsden State Community College recently celebrated its most dedicated faculty and staff members, recognizing those whose contributions have significantly transformed the institution and inspired the campus community.
“Honoring the exceptional achievements of our faculty and staff reminds us of the profound impact a dedicated team can have on shaping our college’s future,” said Gadsden State President Kathy Murphy. “The awards presented are a testament to their unwavering commitment and the vibrant spirit that drives us all forward.”
Melissa Davis, Orientation Instructor, was honored for her 10 years of dedicated service as the advisor of the Rho Rho Chapter at Gadsden State. This recognition highlights the vital role chapter advisors play in the organization’s success. Davis was presented with a special gift and will have her name engraved on a brick at the Phi Theta Kappa Center for Excellence.
Alison Bowling, Administrative Assistant, received the Staff Excellence in Service Award, which honors professional and support staff who excel in their roles and demonstrate exceptional service and professionalism. This award recognizes Bowling’s positive impact on the college community.
Catherine Bailey, English and Paralegal Instructor, was awarded the Exceptional Achievement in Teaching Award, the college’s highest honor for faculty. This award celebrates educators who provide outstanding instruction and enhance the student learning experience through innovative teaching methods and deep subject knowledge.
Both award recipients will receive a $1,000 discretionary fund for the academic year, which can be used for equipment, professional development, or teaching supplies.
