Gadsden, AL – Gadsden State Community College is welcoming incoming students through its Cardinal Commit summer orientation sessions, beginning in June. The program is designed to help new students navigate enrollment, connect with campus resources, and prepare for academic success.
“Cardinal Commit is a great event for any first-time freshman or even someone who has taken an extended break from college to attend,” said Cody Beck, Director of Enrollment Services. “It is designed to assist students with navigating their MyGadsdenState student portal, learning about making payments, viewing their student account, registering for classes, and becoming acclimated to the campus.”
Cardinal Commit offers six orientation sessions across Gadsden State’s campuses:
-
June 26 – Ayers Campus (Anniston)
-
July 10 – Gadsden State Cherokee (Centre)
-
July 15, 17, and 31 – Wallace Drive Campus (Gadsden)
-
July 26 (Saturday) – Wallace Drive Campus (Gadsden)
Each session begins with an 8:00 a.m. check-in and concludes by noon. The orientation starts with a MyGadsdenState portal overview and a financial aid session. Students are then guided to meet with academic advisors for class registration, explore academic programs and student services, and obtain their student ID and parking decal.
“All of our employees look forward to seeing our new students on campus during Cardinal Commit and helping them prepare to excel at college,” said Beck.
