Gadsden State Community College Launches “Operation We Remember” for Suicide Prevention Awareness Month

Gadsden State hosts 'Operation We Remember' to address Veteran suicide and mental health

Anniston and Gadsden, AL – In recognition of Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, Gadsden State Community College is hosting a two-day event, “Operation We Remember,” to raise awareness of Veteran suicide and promote conversations around the challenges Veterans face. The event is open to the public and will take place on two campuses, providing an opportunity for community members to engage in meaningful support for Veterans.

“When our Veterans come home, they often carry unseen scars that weigh heavily on their hearts,” said Pamela Johnson, Gadsden State’s Dean of Special Projects. “This event is our way of not only remembering those who were overcome by their pain, but also offering a lifeline to others, reminding them there’s always someone ready to stand with them.”

Event Details:

Day One – Tuesday, September 10

  • Location: Gadsden State Wallace Drive Campus – Beck Field House, 1001 George Wallace Drive, Gadsden, AL
  • Time: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Day Two – Wednesday, September 11

  • Location: Gadsden State Ayers Campus – Business/ACCT Building, 1801 Coleman Road, Anniston, AL
