In addition to the vibrant arts scene, Gadsden State’s Financial Aid Department is proactively supporting students for the 2024-25 academic year amidst changes brought about by the FAFSA Simplification Act. With the aim of expanding access to Federal Pell Grants and linking eligibility to family size and the federal poverty level, the College has introduced proactive measures to streamline processes and ensure timely disbursement of vital aid. Ian Freyberg, financial aid director, emphasized the College’s commitment to student success and accessibility, highlighting the importance of dedicated support and streamlined processes. To further assist students, FAFSA Workshops are being held at the One Stop Center on the East Broad Campus on April 30 and May 7 from 4 to 6 p.m., as well as on June 3 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. All students, whether new or returning, are encouraged to attend these workshops for personalized assistance and guidance.
