Gadsden State Community College Offers Start Strong Scholarships to Class of 2024 Graduates

Scholarships offered to graduating seniors through July 1

Gadsden, AL – High school graduates from the Class of 2024 may be eligible for the Start Strong Scholarship at Gadsden State Community College, covering up to 12 credit hours for the upcoming academic year. This scholarship aims to support new graduates in their transition to higher education by alleviating some financial burdens.

The Start Strong Scholarship provides funding for up to six hours of tuition and fees for the fall 2024 semester and another six hours for the spring 2025 semester. The deadline to apply for this scholarship is July 1.

“Gadsden State is offering an opportunity for graduating seniors to secure essential financial aid as they continue their educational journey,” said Andy Green, dean of Student Services. “Our college aims to alleviate some of the burdens associated with accessing quality education.”

Valued at over $2,000, the Start Strong Scholarship is available to students who enroll full-time for both semesters. The scholarship extends beyond the Gadsden State service area, offering in-state tuition rates to out-of-state students. However, students who have already been awarded a graduating high school senior scholarship may not qualify for additional funds.
