Gadsden, AL – Gadsden State Community College will offer priority registration for the upcoming spring semester starting on October 29. This opportunity is available to students who have completed 24 or more credit hours, allowing them to secure their preferred courses before general registration begins on October 30. The spring semester is set to commence on January 13.
To support students during the registration period, advisors will be available to guide them through course selection, ensuring alignment with degree or certification requirements. Those who have yet to declare a major can seek assistance at the Advising and Retention Center, located at the One Stop Center on the East Broad Campus or in the Administration Building on the Ayers Campus. Advisors will help undecided students navigate general studies and explore potential career options, while also offering guidance on essential steps like payments and acquiring necessary materials for the semester.
Andy Green, Dean of Student Services at Gadsden State, emphasized the benefits of taking advantage of priority registration.
“Priority registration is an excellent opportunity for students who have already invested in their education,” said Green. “It ensures they get access to the classes they need and at the times that work best for their schedules.”
Green also stressed the importance of registering early rather than waiting until the last minute.
“Registering early not only gives students the best chance of getting their preferred course, but it also reduces the stress of last-minute planning,” he said. “Early registration allows students to focus on their current courses and other responsibilities without worrying about course availability closer to the start of the semester.”
He encouraged students to make use of the available advisory services during this crucial period.
“Gadsden State advisors are committed to helping all students achieve their academic and career goals by providing personalized guidance and support throughout the registration process,” Green added.
