Gadsden State Recognizes 98 Student-Athletes on ACCC Honor Roll for Academic Excellence

Gadsden State Student-athletes named to ACCC Commissioner's Honor Roll

Gadsden, AL – Gadsden State Community College celebrated the academic achievements of its student-athletes, as 98 individuals were named to the Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) Commissioner’s Honor Roll for the fall semester. The honor recognizes student-athletes who maintained a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher, showcasing their ability to balance rigorous academic demands with the challenges of collegiate sports.

Blake Lewis, Gadsden State’s athletic director, expressed pride in the students’ accomplishments. “Through the hard work and dedication of our athletes and our coaching staff, we have seen significant growth in both performance and recognition,” Lewis said. “This achievement is a testament to the resilience and commitment of our student-athletes, who continue to succeed both academically and athletically.”

Team Academic Excellence

The collective academic performance of Gadsden State’s athletic teams was remarkable, with an average GPA of 3.22 across all eight teams. Several teams stood out with exceptional GPAs:

  • Women’s Cross Country: 3.7
  • Volleyball: 3.61
  • Men’s Cross Country: 3.55
  • Tennis: 3.57
  • Softball: 3.31
  • Baseball: 3.30
