Gadsden, AL – A new chapter begins for volleyball standout Ziniah Hardy as she bids farewell to Gadsden State Community College and prepares to embark on an exciting journey at Tuskegee University. After two remarkable seasons with the Cardinals, Hardy announced her decision to transfer during a signing event held on Thursday at the Beck Conference Center, surrounded by teammates, family, and friends.

“Playing at the university-level has always been a dream of mine since the seventh grade,” Hardy shared during the emotional event. “I’m so blessed to have the opportunity to continue my athletic and academic career at Tuskegee University. I’ve worked hard for this moment, and I can’t wait to get to work.”

As a defensive specialist for Gadsden State, Hardy showcased her exceptional skills on the court, tallying impressive statistics including 578 digs, 43 aces, 27 kills, and 25 assists over the course of her two seasons with the Cardinals.

“Ziniah has been our main defensive player for the past two seasons,” remarked Coach Courtney Brothers. “She is everywhere on the court. She brings the energy on the floor as well.”

Hardy’s contributions to the team did not go unnoticed, earning her recognition such as being named to the All-Tournament teams for the Alabama vs. Mississippi Crossover Tournament and the Fall Bash Tournament. She also earned the title of Alabama Community College Conference Player of the Week on Sept. 26 for her outstanding performance, recording 10 kills, 33 attack attempts, two kills, and 35 digs.

Beyond her athletic prowess, Hardy is also a standout in academics. A member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, she has been named to the ACCC Commissioners Academic Honor Roll and the National Junior College Athletic Association All-Academic Team.

“Ziniah will be greatly missed, but we are looking forward to seeing how she excels at Tuskegee both academically and athletically,” added Coach Brothers. “We know she will represent Gadsden State well. We are very proud of her.”

With her exceptional talent, dedication, and academic achievements, Ziniah Hardy is poised to make a significant impact at Tuskegee University, continuing to shine brightly both on and off the volleyball court. Gadsden State bids her farewell with gratitude and pride, knowing that she will continue to excel in her future endeavors.
