Anniston, AL — Gadsden State Community College is inviting the public to join in a special celebration marking the relocation and renovation of its One Stop Center at the Ayers Campus in Anniston. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 28 at the newly upgraded Cheaha Center, located at 1731 Coleman Road, Anniston, AL 36207.
The event will spotlight the transformation of the Cheaha Center, which formerly housed the Alabama Department of Labor’s Anniston Career Center. The building has been revitalized to become a more dynamic and centralized hub, now home to both the new Gadsden State One Stop Center and the Anniston Career Center.
This project marks a significant investment in the Anniston community, as the One Stop Center now serves as the central location for critical student support services. The relocation of departments from the Ayers Campus Administration Building to the updated Cheaha Center aims to streamline and enhance the experience for students and job seekers alike.
The One Stop Center now houses the following essential services:
-
Advising and Retention Center
-
Dual Enrollment
-
Admissions and Records
-
Financial Aid
-
Enrollment Services
-
Technical Advisement
-
Educational Opportunity Center
-
The Business Office
In addition, the Anniston Career Center remains a vital partner in connecting residents with employment and training resources. Cosmetic renovations throughout the facility offer a more modern, welcoming environment for all who enter.
The April 28 ribbon cutting is expected to draw local leaders, community partners, students, and faculty, all of whom are eager to see the positive changes firsthand and celebrate this step forward for Gadsden State’s Ayers Campus and the Anniston area.
