GADSDEN, AL — Gadsden State Community College has announced that Head Men’s Basketball Coach Deddric Tarverhas been named Coach of the Year by the Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC), recognizing his leadership and the success of the Cardinals during the 2025–2026 season.
Under Tarver’s leadership, the Gadsden State men’s basketball program posted a strong conference performance while demonstrating disciplined play and steady growth. The season reflected not only competitive success on the court but also continued development of student-athletes academically and personally.
Gadsden State Athletic Director Dr. Blake Lewis said Tarver has established a culture centered on accountability and excellence, noting that the recognition reflects both his daily commitment and the respect he has earned across the conference.
Tarver credited the award to his team and staff, emphasizing their shared effort and commitment to the program’s vision. He highlighted the dedication of the players and coaching staff as key factors behind the team’s accomplishments this season.
The ACCC Coach of the Year honor is determined by a vote of conference coaches and recognizes leadership, team performance, and overall contributions to the sport.
