Birmingham, AL — May 10, 2022—This year, Girl Scouts of North Central Alabama ended the 2022 Cookie Season strong with cookie sales that exceeded their expectations. With obstacles such as cookie shipping delays, Girl Scouts pushed through and had a great cookie season selling over one million packages. Girl Scouts of North-Central Alabama recognizes those Girl Scouts who exceeded their entrepreneurial goals as top cookie sellers.
Over 4,000 Girl Scouts participated in the 2022 Cookie Program and sold over one million packages of cookies. Girl Scouts sold cookies in person, through booth sales, DoorDash, and through the online Digital Cookie platform. Over 2,000 packages were donated to Hometown Heroes. Ambassador Girl Scout Stella Biddle from Jacksonville, Alabama was the top entrepreneur in North-Central Alabama this season selling 7,022 packages. She sold the most cookies in the North-Central Alabama Council!
All Girl Scout proceeds remain local and help fund Girl Scout adventures throughout the year. Girls are able to explore their interests and tackle issues that they care about. Through Girl Scouts, girls use STEM skills to solve problems, change laws to help their community, have courageous outdoor experiences, or start innovative nonprofits. Girl Scouts build a better future for themselves and the world. Through the Girl Scout Cookie Program, girls earn new Cookie Business badges, become entrepreneurs, and learn important online and offline business skills that set them up for success in life.
“We already knew it, but this year proved it: our Girl Scouts are resilient, adaptable, and creative,” said Karen Peterlin, CEO of the Girl Scouts of North-Central Alabama. “We’re proud of the ways they tackled challenges and reached their goals this year.”
