GLENCOE — Glencoe got the football season ending it wanted Friday. White Plains got to live the breakthrough of knowing there’s a next week.
Jaymin Mintz and Bryce Borntrager hooked up for two touchdown passes, and Glencoe fought off a White Plains comeback to win their regular-season finale 31-21 at home.
The Yellow Jackets finished 5-5, sending off a senior class that included Borntrager in style.
White Plains saw a six-game winning streak end but finished 6-4. The Wildcats clinched their second-ever playoff berth and first since 1994 with a victory over Ashville a week prior to Friday’s game.
With a 5-2 record in Class 3A, Region 4, White Plains finished third in region play and will open the playoffs at Jackson, the Region 1 runner up and 2025 Class 4A state champion.
