MONTGOMERY, AL — Governor Kay Ivey on Wednesday announced the appointment of Jennifer Rudden Conway to the Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles, effective immediately.
Conway fills the vacancy created by the resignation of former board member Darryl Littleton.
In announcing the appointment, Ivey cited Conway’s extensive background in criminal investigations and law enforcement.
“Jennifer Conway possesses a deep knowledge of criminal law matched with decades of first-hand experience investigating and bringing the most hardened offenders to justice,” Ivey said. “I cannot think of a more qualified person to sit on the Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles ensuring each case is carefully reviewed and the public’s interest is protected. I look forward to her service.”
Conway said she is honored by the appointment and emphasized her commitment to public safety.
“I appreciate Governor Kay Ivey’s trust in me and am committed to fulfilling my duties on the board for the people of Alabama,” Conway said. “I understand the importance of my role on the board and the need to collaborate with fellow board members to make informed decisions. I take the responsibility of the board very seriously and ensure my decisions will always prioritize public safety.”
Conway began her law enforcement career in 2001 with the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) as a Special Agent in Greensboro, North Carolina. While there, she worked alongside state and local agencies investigating gang-related drug and firearm activity.
In 2003, Conway transferred to the Middle District of Alabama, where she spent the next 13 years advancing from Special Agent to Senior Special Agent. During that time, she investigated gang-affiliated firearms trafficking and criminal enterprises.
In 2016, Conway was promoted to Resident Agent in Charge for the Middle District of Alabama. In that role, she supervised ATF Special Agents and Task Force Officers responsible for investigating complex violations involving federal firearms, arson and explosives laws. Her responsibilities also included work with the Metro Area Crime Suppression Unit established during the Ivey administration.
A graduate of Jacksonville State University, Conway earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1999 after studying biology and chemistry.
Her appointment to the Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles is effective immediately.
