Alabama State of Emergency ended

July 7, 2021

Yesterday marked the first time in over a year that Alabama is no longer under a COVID-19 State of Emergency. Governor Kay Ivey issued the official proclamation formally ending the State of Emergency. The Governor is not claiming an end to the pandemic, but only the state of emergency itself.

By ending this year long emergency it enables the government to go back to pre-pandemic work on policy and governing and businesses can keep trying to get back to where they were before the shutdown.

Although there are no longer any mandates issued by the State of Alabama it is still recommended to maintain social distancing and to wear a mask if you choose to do so.
