Per Governor Ivey’s office flags should be lowered honoring former U.S. Senator Robert Joseph “Bob” Dole. The official order is below:

In accordance with the presidential proclamation, I am directing flags to be displayed at half- staff as a mark of respect for former U.S. Senator Robert Joseph “Bob” Dole, who passed away today, December 5, 2021.

We honor Sen. Dole’s decades of public service in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives as well as his heroic military service in the U.S. Army in World War II.

Flags should be flown at half-staff until sunset on Thursday, December 9, 2021.
