Governor Ivey Invites Students to Apply for 2025 Summer Internship Program

Montgomery, AL – Governor Kay Ivey announced on Friday that the application period for the Governor’s Office Summer Internship Program is officially open. This nine-week program offers college students a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in state government by working directly with professionals in the executive branch.

Governor Ivey, a strong advocate for education and a former teacher, emphasized the importance of the program for college students interested in learning more about public service and governmental processes. She encouraged students to apply for the chance to be involved in important state issues.

“I am looking forward to welcoming a new class of bright and talented students to join us in Montgomery this summer. Our interns are an integral part of the Governor’s Office, working closely with my team to address important issues that affect the people of our state,” Governor Ivey said. “This program is an excellent opportunity for our young people to gain a deeper understanding of how our government works and make a meaningful impact on Alabama.”

The program is open to current college students with an interest in public service and government. Interns will work alongside Governor Ivey’s staff, participate in special projects, and have opportunities to engage with key issues affecting the state.

The internship runs from May 26, 2025, through July 25, 2025. The application deadline is March 21, 2025, by the close of business. Students interested in applying can visit the Governor’s Office website for more details on eligibility and the application process.

This internship presents an excellent opportunity for students to gain insight into Alabama’s state government while contributing to the work of the Governor’s Office.
