MONTGOMERY, AL – Governor Kay Ivey has declared a state of emergency for all 67 counties in Alabama in anticipation of potentially severe weather expected this weekend. The declaration, effective today at 2:00 p.m. Central, will remain in place for the duration of the emergency unless lifted earlier by official proclamation.

In her statement, Governor Ivey emphasized the importance of preparedness, urging Alabamians to monitor local forecasts and take necessary precautions.

“The state of Alabama is at risk for potentially dangerous, severe weather throughout this weekend, so it is critical that everyone stays very aware of their local forecasts. Now is the time to make any preparations and have a plan, should the weather conditions become dangerous. Certainly, we are no stranger to Mother Nature’s wrath, but I encourage Alabamians to be vigilant beginning tonight. Stay weather aware and stay safe!” – Governor Kay Ivey

The declaration enables state resources to be allocated as needed for emergency response efforts. Residents are advised to stay informed through local news and official weather alerts as conditions develop.
