PIEDMONT — The City of Piedmont is inviting residents and visitors to the grand opening of the newly renovated Southern Railroad Depot Museum on Sunday, September 28, from 1 to 4 p.m. in downtown Piedmont.
The depot, originally built in 1868, has been carefully restored to showcase the town’s history and its role in Alabama’s development. The museum features a variety of artifacts, photographs, documents, and letters that tell the story of Piedmont and its people.
Organizers hope for a strong turnout to celebrate this new chapter for the community landmark. Refreshments will be provided during the event.
The Piedmont Southern Railroad Depot Museum aims to serve as a cultural and educational resource for the city, offering insight into both local history and the broader story of Alabama’s railroad era.
