Heart Gallery Alabama Celebrates 20 Years of Connecting Youth in Foster Care with Supportive Adults with Show in Jacksonville

Jacksonville, AL – Heart Gallery Alabama (HGA) is marking a significant milestone this year, celebrating 20 years of dedicated service to connecting youth in foster care with supportive adults who provide stability, guidance, and life-changing opportunities. Established in 2005, HGA has worked tirelessly to bridge the gap between children in need and individuals willing to provide a nurturing and permanent home.

Unlike traditional adoption agencies, Heart Gallery Alabama raises awareness through a traveling exhibit and an online gallery, showcasing compelling portraits of children in foster care. This initiative aims to create meaningful connections between youth and potential adoptive families.

In addition to promoting adoption, HGA offers programs to enrich the lives of children in foster care. The Hope from the Heart birthday program ensures that every child featured by HGA receives a personalized gift and celebration, reinforcing their sense of identity and self-worth. The S.O.A.R. Mentor Program (Supporting Opportunities to Achieve and Rise), in partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Birmingham, connects foster youth with trained mentors who provide long-term support and encouragement.

As part of its anniversary celebration, HGA is bringing its traveling exhibit to Calhoun County. Throughout this month, visitors to the Jacksonville Community Center can view a powerful display of photographs, each telling the story of a child in need of a permanent home. The exhibit serves as an invitation for the community to engage with HGA’s mission and consider how they can make a difference in the lives of Alabama’s foster youth.

For two decades, Heart Gallery Alabama has remained committed to the belief that every child deserves a place to call home. As they celebrate this milestone, the organization continues to inspire hope and create life-changing opportunities for youth in foster care.
