Heflin Man Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on U.S. 431

HEFLIN, AL – A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 8:34 a.m. on Friday, June 28, has claimed the life of a Heflin man. Bryan D. Collins, 63, was fatally injured when the 2007 Ford Ranger he was driving collided with a 2023 Freightliner tractor-trailer.

The Freightliner was driven by Terry H. Ray, 65, of Cusseta. Following the collision, Ray was transported to the Regional Medical Center in Anniston for medical treatment. His condition has not been disclosed.

The crash took place on U.S. 431 near the 212-mile marker, approximately eight miles south of Heflin, in Cleburne County. Bryan D. Collins was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. Further details are currently unavailable.
