HEFLIN, AL — The City of Heflin will host its annual Independence Day Celebration on Friday, July 3, at McIntyre Park, featuring a patriotic parade, live music, family activities, food vendors, and an evening fireworks display.
The festivities begin with lineup for the annual Bicycle and Golf Cart Parade at 5:30 p.m. at the Heflin Armory. Community members are encouraged to decorate bicycles, golf carts, wagons, scooters, and other non-motorized rides in patriotic red, white, and blue before the parade begins following the National Anthem at 6 p.m.
The parade will travel around Carillon Oaks before the evening continues with live music by Chad Robertson and Joe Johnson beginning at 6:30 p.m.
From 6 to 8 p.m., attendees can enjoy a variety of free family activities, including inflatable slides, balloon entertainment inside the recreation center, a foam party, photo booth, cotton candy, snow cones, popcorn, and free watermelon while supplies last.
Food vendors will be available from 5 to 9 p.m., offering a variety of options including barbecue, hamburgers, hot dogs, kettle corn, ice cream, shaved ice, and other festival favorites.
The celebration concludes with a fireworks show scheduled to begin at 9 p.m.
City officials are encouraging residents to participate in the annual parade by decorating their bikes, golf carts, wagons, and scooters, noting that community creativity has become a highlight of the annual Independence Day tradition.
