CLEBURNE COUNTY, AL — A two-vehicle crash early Friday morning claimed the life of a Heflin woman and left two others injured, including a 7-year-old child.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the crash occurred at approximately 5:27 a.m. Friday, Sept. 4, on Alabama 46 near the 13-mile marker, approximately seven miles east of Heflin.
Mary K. Sanders, 32, of Heflin, was fatally injured when the 2025 Nissan Versa she was driving collided head-on with a 2016 Cadillac XTS driven by Lorenzo Swink, 55, of Anniston. Sanders was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Swink was injured in the crash and transported to Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center in Anniston for medical treatment.
A 7-year-old passenger in the Nissan was also injured and transported to an area hospital for medical treatment.
No additional information is available at this time.
Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate the crash.
