ANNISTON, AL — Families and wildlife enthusiasts are invited to get up close with reptiles and amphibians at Herp Fest 2025, happening Saturday, June 7, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Longleaf Event Center. This interactive celebration of slimy and scaly creatures promises a day full of hands-on learning, entertainment, and discovery.
Organized in partnership with Jacksonville State University, Camp Lee, the Cook Museum, Cheaha State Park, and the Anniston Museum of Natural History, Herp Fest offers attendees the opportunity to meet live snakes, turtles, frogs, and more. Educational presentations, craft stations, a sensory slime swamp, and face painting will round out the family-friendly festivities.
Guests can also enjoy a variety of food options from local vendors while exploring the world of reptiles and amphibians. Though Herp Fest admission does not include access to the broader Anniston Museums complex, attendees are encouraged to extend their visit to explore the Anniston Museum of Natural History, the Berman Museum, and the Longleaf Botanical Gardens.
Admission is $10 per person for ages 4 and up, with a $5 discount available for museum members. Children 3 and under are admitted free.
