Oxford, AL – Historic Main Street Oxford is inviting the community to attend its upcoming Downtown Block Party on Saturday, June 6, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Simmons Park, located at 400 Main Street in downtown Oxford.
The free, family-friendly event is designed to bring residents and visitors together for an afternoon of music, activities, shopping, and community entertainment in Historic Downtown Oxford.
According to organizers, the event will feature music by DJ Big Bus, games and activities for all ages, and opportunities to shop with downtown businesses during the event. The first 200 attendees will receive free hotdogs.
Guests will also have access to free rides at Terrortorium Haunted House & Amusements during the block party.
Families with children are encouraged to participate in splash time hosted by the Oxford Fire Department from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Organizers recommend children wear swimsuits and bring towels for the sprinkler hose activities.
Historic Main Street Oxford said the event is intended to celebrate the start of summer while highlighting community involvement and supporting downtown Oxford businesses.
The Downtown Block Party will take place at Simmons Park, 400 Main Street, and admission is free to the public.
